Dr. Kathy Zimmermann

Dr. Kathy (Kaoverii) Zimmerman, FNP, APHN
Kathy is a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Advanced Practice Holistic Nurse (APHN). She has worked in a variety of settings as a nurse: Neonatal ICU, private holistic practice with a focus on homeopathic care, community health clinic as an FNP, and as Nursing Faculty at several universities across the U.S. She has lectured at health conferences on nursing theories and homeopathy. In addition to her clinical and didactic experience, Kathy has participated in curriculum development for undergraduate and graduate nursing courses. Kathy’s teaching philosophy is to establish a variety of teaching strategies, grounded in holistic theories of caring, trust, and respect. Providing an open environment, engaging students in an experiential reflective process, and develop practical application of their knowledge.
Being raised in Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Thailand influenced Kathy’s interest in a multicultural approach to patient care, including a desire to practice natural healing. Returning to America in 1972, her family settled in Louisville Kentucky where she was introduced to yoga and meditation: a spiritual path based on Neohumanism. She has continued her meditation and yoga practice for the past 50 years.
Kathy lives in Lebanon, TN with her husband. They enjoy spending time with their family, especially as grandparents. Her interests include healthy living with a focus on longevity, crafts and quilt making, travel, and being in nature.
