Neohumanist Education

Teaching 8-Limbed Yoga for 3-10 Year Olds

Course Description

This course explores developmentally appropriate strategies for bringing the spiritual practices of the Astaunga Yoga lifestyle into the classroom. These include Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, and Samadhi. A significant component embedded in this system is how to nurture and build our spiritual relationship with the Inner Essence. Some emphasis will be placed on incorporating storytelling, drawing, music, drama, and the arts in Astaunga Yoga practices.

How this course is related to Neohumanism?
Asana poses are a quick study of all the animals and beings that populate Mother Earth. We will explore the planet and connect with members of our World Family through yoga asana.
Experience a completely unique learning journey! Students will learn:
  • How to do character building, fantasy asanas, asana stories, safe breathing exercises, preparing kids for meditation, fun meditations, and deep relaxation.
  • How all these yoga practices affect child development and balance?
  • A little more knowledge of having FUN with children during the various yoga practices.
